De Guatemala al Chile de Neruda. El terremoto

En este ensayo el autor pasa reseña los efectos y resonancia que tuvieron en el ámbito de la crónica y de la poesía hispanoamericana algunos terremotos de gran magnitud que asolaron ciudades enteras, como la antigua capital de Guatemala, Lima y Managua, extendiendo el examen al juicio de Neruda en su poesía acerca de la negatividad del siglo XX, siglo de ruinas, y la descripción e interpretación del terremoto y de la tierra, madrastra y madre.

From Guatemala to Chile of Neruda. The Earthquake

In this essay, the author reviews Spanish-American chronicles and poetry that speak of the effects of major earthquakes, such as those that destroyed entire cities like the ancient capital of Guatemala, Lima and Managua. He broadens his research to include the judgment of Neruda in his poem about the negativity of the twentieth century, a century of ruins, and his description and interpretation of the earthquake and of the earth as merciful/merciless mother.

Dal Guatemala al Chile di Neruda. Il terremoto

Nel saggio l’autore passa in rassegna gli effetti che ebbero nell’ambito della cronaca e della poesia ispano-americana alcuni terremoti di grande proporzione che distrussero città intere, come l’antica capitale del Guatemala, Lima e Managua, ed estende l’esame al giudizio di Neruda nella sua poesia a proposito della negatività del secolo XX, secolo di rovine, e alla sua descrizione e interpretazione del terremoto e della terra matrigna e madre.
