Rotonde colline e pietraie impervie: i versi di Maria Luisa Daniele Toffanin e di Mara Donat
Abstract
Round Hills and Broken Stony Grounds: Maria Luisa Daniele Toffanin’s and Mara Donat’s Poetry
This article is a brief commentary on two interesting Italian poetesses (Maria Luisa Daniele Toffanin, born in Padua, and Mara Donat, born in San Vito al Tagliamento, Pordenone), followed by an anthology of their verse. Although Toffanin and Donat are linked by a common love of their homeland and the awareness of human pain, their poems are quite different: Toffanin’s are clear, mature and peaceful; Donat’s are harsh and tormented.
