A Poetics of Conviviality: The Asado as a Leitmotiv in Juan José Saer's Works

The recurring theme of the essay is an analysis of the asado with its double meaning: both a typical recipe of the Rio del Plata with its  jovial sharing of a meal according to a socially codified ritual and then also culturally characterized as a vivid component of the Argentine  national identity.
