Abstract

The numerous French into English translations – and vice versa – of the essays included in the volume In Italics / En Italiques witness Antonio D'Alfonso's search for a universal reader. In the impossibility of reaching this aim, the originally Italian migrant writer  is destined to take up his texts, to translate and adjust them in a seemingly endless process.
