Abstract

Traces of Pasolinian Echoes in Quebec: from the Jesuits to Transculturalism

Pier Paolo Pasolini was in Montreal in 1966 for the launching of the film “Uccellacci e uccellini”; in 1968 he was assigned the Office catholique international du cinéma award for “Teorema” by a jury presided by the Canadian Jesuit, Father Marc Gervais; in 1983 an important symposium was held at the presence of Italian and Quebec intellectuals. These are all elements signifying Pasolini’s resonance within the Left movements of Quebec.
