‘Garlic: The Most Eloquent Plant, Graceful as A Lily’: Scents and Flavors in Ethnic Canadian Literature

Food can take on an infinite number of meanings and is often linked  with cultural and ethnic identity. In this light the essay analyzes symbolic instances of food in Austin Clarke, Fred Wah, Caterina Edwards, Frank Paci, Gianna Patriarca and Mary.
