Abstract
Transplanted Subjects: Self-Translation Processes in Translingual Narratives
This paper offers a brief overview of the literary production of four contemporary Italophone women writers to illustrate the forms of self-translation each writer brings into play in her writings: both as a process of transition into a new language and as a literary (re)creation in the adopted language (Italian). It also examines these writers’ discursive and linguistic explorations of bi- or multilingualism, and the literary forms they employ to negotiate the migration experience.
